Dr. David Gerber

David Gerber, MD, MHSc, FRCS(C), has been a gynecologist for over twelve years. Prior to that, he was a family doctor for four years. He graduated from Medical School at the University of Stellenbosch, in South Africa, and trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver. After completing his residency, he did a subspecialty in Incontinence Surgery in Toronto and went on to earn a Master’s of Health Sciences degree in Bioethics at the University of Toronto in 2004. During this time he practiced academic gynecology at Sunnybrook and Women’s College Health Science Centre in Toronto, with an interest in minimally invasive surgery, colposcopy and emergency gynecology.

Dr Gerber runs the Meridia Vulva Disease Clinic, for the treatment of many vulva skin conditions. He also treats women who are unable to have satisfactory intercourse due to pain (Vestibulodynia). In addition, the Meridia Colposcopy Unit treats women who have abnormal pre-cancerous lesions on the cervix and vulva skin, with state-of-the art equipment, including an Ultrapulse CO2 laser.

Dr Gerber has been trained and applies the correct surgical techniques for labia reduction surgery and is very experienced with this procedure. A woman seeking this procedure can be reassured that her results will meet with her expectation.

Dr. Gerber is a member of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada and the American College Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In addition to his clinical practice, he teaches residents and students as well as lectures to community physicians. His medical philosophy is grounded in the Feminine Ethics of Care Framework.
